Receptionist / Administration Assistant

We are looking for a casual front desk receptionist/administration assistant for approximately 8-16 hours per week. After the initial training period the days and hours are flexible, but Saturday mornings will be required during busy periods. Hours are expected to increase over time.


This position may suit a school-based traineeship or a Certificate III Business Administration traineeship.

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Answering all incoming calls, redirecting calls and taking messages

  • Making appointments

  • Greeting clients, providing refreshments

  • Scanning and filing of both electronic and hardcopy correspondence

  • Bookkeeping

  • Maintenance of client folders in a paperless filing system

  • Data entry

  • Preparation of correspondence


Preferred but not essential:

  • Bookkeeping qualification and/or experience

  • Experience using Xero software

  • Experience using Excel, Gmail, Google Calendar, Xero Tax, Adobe Acrobat

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel formulas and macros

  • Basic knowledge of the Australian tax system (ie PAYG Instalments, PAYG Withholding, GST, marginal tax rates)

  • Understanding of different business structures (ie sole trader, partnership, trust, company)

The ideal person for this position would have an interest in the field of accounting and if you haven't already started, plan to study accounting in the future.
