We are a Business for Good
In 2007, B1G1 started with a simple idea: “What if every business could make a difference in their own way, just by doing what they normally do?”
With more than a decade of work, this simple idea has now become a global movement.
Our Giving Story
As a B1G1 Business For Good, we incorporate purpose and meaning to our business through giving. Together, we are making a great difference in the world by doing what we do every day.
For each new business that joins our team we will provide 1 square metre of rainforest protection in Australia.
Protect the unique biodiversity values of the Daintree Rainforest, Australia's largest, and the world's oldest rainforest and an important site of international conservation. While most of the Daintree Rainforest was declared a World heritage Area in 1988, areas of the Daintree Lowland Rainforest were not included and were subsequently divided into rural residential lots. Rainforest Rescue is on a mission to redeem approximately 180 rainforest properties by 2040 with high conservation status to reduce the amount of fragmentation of the rainforest.
For each new company we setup for a new or existing client we will Plant A Tree In The Daintree Rainforest.
By planting one tree in the rainforest we can help protect the unique biodiversity of the Daintree Rainforest, the oldest (185million years) rainforest in the world and an important site of international conservation. While most of the Daintree Rainforest was declared a World Heritage Area in 1988, areas of the Daintree Lowland Rainforest were not included and were subsequently divided into rural residential lots, causing fragmentation and loss of habitat for over 122 threatened species. Our contribution will help restore and establish habitats for plants and animals that are local to the ecosystem.
For each tax return that we lodge we will provide 1 day of digital training skills to aboriginal communities.
The Geeks in Residence project provides digital skills development training and activities to aboriginal communities. A digital skill set is crucial in today's society, and young people with those skills are often called upon to help older people in communities with online and digital tasks. This project mixes learning with fun and meets the interest of children, young people and adults. They offer music making and recording sessions or multi-media skill training. Those skills acquired stay in the community and are then passed on to others creating a beautiful ripple effect. The Project is managed by : Dot Com Mob
For each BAS that we lodge we will sponsor 1 essential item for support families of hospitalised children in Australia.
When a child is diagnosed with a serious illness, families can remain bedside for weeks, months or sometimes years. Ronald McDonald Family Rooms are situated within major hospitals all over Australia and provide families with a place to relax and regroup away from the clinical environment of the ward. Support families by providing a cup of tea, shower or freshly washed clothes during the most traumatic time of their life. The Project is managed by : Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia
Sustainable Development Goals
On 25 September 2015, world leaders convened to adopt the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They represent the global community’s next step in ending poverty, fighting inequality and injustice, and tackling climate change for the next 15 years. B1G1 ties each project to at least one of the SDG and tracks impacts created in each SDG.
